In the lead up to this years Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand Tradeshow, I designed a variety of marketing material for Lucentt to promote new import products, spread awareness of the tradeshow and to display at the tradeshow. The fliers displayed at the show offered discounts for attendees on purchases made at the show and for the rest of the month.

Eco Friendly Urns


The Living Urn’s BioUrn is an environmentally friendly urn that Lucentt is keen to introduce to the New Zealand market. The idea is to grow a memorial plant on cremated remains to commemorate a loved one in a tangible way. The Eco Scattering Urn is an eco friendly bamboo urn specifically for scattering ashes.

The intention of the flier is to draw the attention of existing customers to the new product. I also corresponded with the Living Urn team in the US to get images and information to adapt for New Zealand. This originated as two double-sided fliers for the separate products but I cut this down to two single sides. Since both products will be marketed to the same customers I combined them into a single flier.

TOLAD Walking Stick Urn


The Tolad is a new style of ash urn designed in The Netherlands. It acts as a walking stick with the ashes in Lucentt has begun importing them to New Zealand with the intention to bring awareness of it to the local funeral market.

I was in contact with the creators in Europe to get existing marketing material to adapt to New Zealand as well as images for this new flier. They were also displayed at the FDANZ Tradeshow this year, which resulted in some orders. We expect orders to increase as the public becomes more aware of the product and ask funeral homes about providing it.

Tradeshow Deals


This included a series of signs to accompany full casket sets on display, including drapery for the interior and hardware (handles, nameplates, etc.) for the exterior and their discounted price if purchased at the show.

Additionally I designed fliers for Batesville, the leading coffin brand, Chaise, Lucentt’s own range of caskets, and a new line of dressing tables from the US.

In Action


In addition to these fliers I ran some Mail-chimp campaigns in the months before the tradeshow. These campaigns promoted the same products as the fliers. During the week following a campaign we had several customers making larger than usual orders and asking about specific products from the campaign.

The tradeshow ran for 3 days and in the days following it, we had an influx of new orders due to the exposure Lucentt got at the tradeshow and from the tradeshow being featured on Seven Sharp.
